Scarborough NRUPP Pilot Program

What is the Network Renewal Undergrounding Program Pilot (NRUPP)?

Western Power constantly renew and upgrade the distribution overhead network when assets are coming to the end of their service life. Traditionally, the work involves like-for-like replacement of these assets.

Replacement of the overhead network with a new underground system is more cost effective for Western Power through the NRUPP, if the Local Government Authority (LGA) covers the cost of replacing the customers overhead service connection with underground.

This program provides LGAs with an opportunity to benefit from the financial investment Western Power already inject through our planned works program, to deliver underground power outside of the State Underground Power Program.

Mainswest have recently been awarded the Scarborough NRUPP project due to commence in Q4 of 2021
